Glenelg and Beaches - Adelaide

A stones throw from Adelaide City...

Expolring the foreshore, Glenelg, Adelaide, South Australia

The seaside suburb of Glenelg is Adelaide’s most popular beach destination.

It’s always buzzing with people enjoying the sand and sea, foreshore parks and entertainment. Stroll along the jetty, browse through the hundreds of shops and dine at sidewalk cafes along Jetty Road.

It’s an easy 20 minute drive or tram ride from the central city. Moseley Square, where Jetty Road meets the beach, is the terminus for the City-to-Bay Tram, which is used by residents, commuters, shoppers and visitors alike.

Nearby Holdfast Shores Marina is the base for restaurants and cafes, Temptation Sailing dolphin cruises and for the kids, a visit to The Beachouse is a must!

For those looking for accommodation close to the beach, Glenelg offers a number of great accommodation options:
- Adelaide Shores Holiday Park and Resort
- Oaks Plaza Pier and Oaks Liberty Towers
- Glenelg Pacific Apartments
- The Stamford

Brighton, Henley, Grange, West and Semaphore are all sandy beaches, offering great fishing jetties, eateries, cafes, restaurants and more. You’ll also find fantastic playgrounds for the children, and live entertainment over the summer months.
