There are many high standard public and private golf courses in and around Adelaide, which means there’s a course to suit every budget and skill level.

The City of Adelaide Golf Links features two 18-hole public golf courses in the city’s parklands while there are another four courses with 20 minutes drive of the city centre.

Royal Adelaide Golf Club

Ranked in the top five in Australia’s Top 100 Courses in 2006, Royal Adelaide is South Australia’s oldest and best-known golf club. Having hosted nine Australian Open events (the latest in 1998), the course has long been recognised as the most challenging in Adelaide - the third hole is regarded as the finest short par 4 in Australia. Located at 328 Tapleys Hill Road, Seaton.

Adelaide Shores Golf Park

These public courses are part of Adelaide Shores - 135 hectares of metropolitan beachfront set aside for accommodation and sporting pursuits. The Patawalonga course is a championship-style links course with lush flat fairways, mature trees and water hazards. The Executive 60 course is an American executive-style short course of 12 Par 3s and six Par 4s.

Adelaide Golf Links

Wrapping around the west and south of beautiful North Adelaide, these two fully watered courses cater for all levels of golfers. Majestic trees and wonderful views of the city and Adelaide Hills make this one of the most envied public courses in Australia. The par 3 course (18 holes) is ideal for the family, casual or social groups and is a good introduction to golf. Located on Strangways Terrace, North Adelaide. Par 3 on War Memorial Drive.

Belair National Park Golf Course

Set in South Australia’s oldest national park, this fully irrigated 18 hole golf course offers interest and challenges to golfers of all levels.  The park is an important habitat for native animals, and it’s common to see kangaroos on the course.

Blackwood Golf Club

This championship 18 hole layout is set in 40 hectares of wildlife sanctuary and offers excellent playing conditions in all seasons.  The couched fairways are set among many magnificent native trees, with water coming into play on six holes.

Flagstaff Hill Golf Club

A beautiful tree-studded course for players of all levels. The course has an undulating to hill layout on fully watered pure couch fairways with poa and bent grass greens. The course is strategically bunkered, with water in play on several holes. The seventh hole is not for the faint-hearted - a par 3 of 160 metres, with a water carry of up to 130 metres a well-guarded green.

Glenelg Golf Club

Located near the popular beachside suburb of Glenelg, the course was ranked 69th in Australia’s top 100 courses in 2006. The Glenelg golf course was built upon a sandy marsh with Pine Hill as the dominant landmark. Pine Full now features prominently in the design of the holes eight through to 13, where the course weaves between tall, established pines, providing some spectacular vistas and challenging shot-making.

Grange Golf Club

Grange’s twin championship sandbelt courses are consistently ranked in the top 60 in Australia. Both are designed with a challenging layout and immaculate fairways and greens. The West Course was ranked 48th in 2006 in Australia’s top 100 courses, while the East Course ranked 55th. Located on White Sands Drive, Seaton.
Adelaide golf courses, South Australia

Kooyonga Golf Club

Kooyonga was ranked 11th in 2006 in Australia’s Top 100 Courses, and five Australian Opens and thee Australian Amateur Championships, as well as numerous South Australian Opens and Amateur Championships, have been decided here.  The layout is testing but fair, with an abundance of natural timber defining the narrow, undulating fairways.  The fairways culmination well-protected greens whose pace and subtle slopes require skill an demand respect.

Riverside Golf Club

Situated on the sandbelt at West Lakes, the course is generally flat, with well bunkered, narrow couch fairways and very good bent grass greens.  With an excellent clubhouse and catering facilities, together with keen and helpful clubhouse and Pro shop staff, Riverside is enjoyed by both members and visitors.

Tea Tree Gully Golf Club

Set in the foothills on the eastern edge of Adelaide, the tree-lined course features Wintergreen couch fairways and tee and bent grass greens. Recent changes by Melbourne-based golf architect Graeme Grant have enhanced the layout, making it a real golf challenge. Located on Hamilton Road, Fairview Park.

The Vines Golf Club of Reynella

One of the older established golf clubs of Adelaide (1925). The Vines has undulating fairways of Santa Ana couch grass and bent grass greens acknowledged as some of the best in the state. One of the most interesting layouts in Adelaide, the course will appeal to golfers of all levels.
