Heritage B&B or cottage accommodation is a very popular choice when staying in the Adelaide Hills.

There is a large variety of B&Bs from contemporary, stylish retreats to historic stone cottages. Many are located in the countryside on orchards, farms or vineyards, while others are tucked down a leafy side street in one of the picturesque local villages.

Over the summer, weekends in the Adelaide Hills can be busy, so be sure to book your accommodation in advance, if possible.

B&B accommodation can be either hosted or self-contained.

Hosted B&B’s provide a great opportunity to meet the locals, since you’ll often be staying in the proprietors’ home. You will have your own bedroom and bathroom but may share a common lounge and dining area. In some establishments you’ll sit down for breakfast and dinner with the owners.

Un-hosted, self-contained B&B’s are also very popular. With your own self-contained cottage, often located in a village, on a vineyard or in the countryside, you’ll normally find breakfast provisions are left out for you to prepare and enjoy at your leisure.
