Barossa

Century Old Vines in the Barossa, South Australia

Just over one hour’s drive from Adelaide is the Barossa, one of the world’s great wine regions, acclaimed for the wine, food and cultural experiences it provides.

There’s nothing else like it in Australia, where rich European heritage lives on, combined with down to earth Australian spirit to create a wonderfully diverse range of attractions in a relaxed, friendly, rural setting.

To visit the Barossa is to taste the good life. Premium wines, including world famous Barossa Shiraz and Eden Valley Riesling, regional produce and acclaimed restaurants provide a gastronomic experience second to none.

If you’re not sure where to start, seek out the Barossa Butcher, Baker, Winemaker Trail to taste, try and buy the best the region has to offer.

Of course, there’s more to the Barossa than just wine. The Barossa Ranges overlook a colourful patchwork of vineyards and picture-book villages, and easy-to-reach walking and cycling trails showcase the Barossa’s natural environment.

You can browse the local art stores, enjoy a brilliant cup of coffee, play a round of golf or attend any range of events from gourmet extravaganzas and farmers markets to live music and the world class Tour Down Under cycling race.

Maggie Beer, celebrity chef: “The Barossa’s everything to me. It’s where I live and the place I love to come home to when I travel. It gives me everything. It’s beautiful. It’s got solitude. It’s got community. With the access I have to great ingredients and produce and great wine, it’s heaven to me.“
