Clare Valley
A picturesque wine region...

Just 90 minutes drive north of Adelaide you’re in the Clare Valley. Get a taste of authentic country life in its rolling pastures and lovingly restored market towns. It’s well known as a picturesque wine region, with over 30 cellar door outlets and a reputation for sensational Rieslings. But Clare Valley is about more than Riesling - and more than just wine.
Amidst the landscapes of Australian bush, rolling farmland and pockets of vineyards you’ll find a busy rural community that treasures its heritage. It’s obvious in lovingly restored towns such as Burra and Kapunda, and the locals are always keen to share a yarn at farm shops, the cellar door or over a drink at a country pub. (Don’t be in a rush, it’s just not Clare Valley!)
The Valley has become a haven for artists of all descriptions and you’re bound to encounter them, and their work, in your travels here.
There’s a festive harvest-season atmosphere that runs through the Clare Valley, all year round. If you’re after a taste of the country, this is as real as it gets.
