Fleurieu Peninsula
Wine & Food...

The Fleurieu Peninsula has world-class wine regions for you to discover, with some of Australia’s most acclaimed wines produced here. With around 60 cellar doors, McLaren Vale is the largest and closest wine region to Adelaide. By any gastronomic standards, this is a remarkable part of the world.
As well as the influence of the peninsula’s successful wine industry, you’ll find a strong farming tradition evident in the long-established almond and olive groves. Here livestock and dairy cattle graze over green hills, while fruit trees in small family-run orchards are heavy with ripening crops.
In a landscape so blessed with such wonderful ingredients, it’s only natural that the locals have come up with imaginative ways to make the most of them. You can easily find roadside outlets selling jams, relishes, handmade breads, traditional cured and smoked meats, rich cheeses and much more.
