McLaren Vale
Explore the wineries and cellars
McLaren Vale offers exceptional wines, regional produce and beautiful scenery nestled between the Mount Lofty Ranges and beaches of Gulf St Vincent. It sits at the start of the beautiful Fleurieu Peninsula and is an easy 45 minute drive from Adelaide.
Best known for its wineries and welcoming cellar doors, McLaren Vale is also a region of outstanding produce, including its famous almond groves. Little wonder that it has an abundance of cafes and restaurants whose chefs happily showcase local produce.
There are over 70 cellar doors in this small region, so you’ll hardly be stuck for choice. Among the must visits are Coriole Winery, d’Arenberg Vineyard and Winery, Samuel’s Gorge and Wirra Wirra Vineyards and Cellars.
The main street of McLaren Vale is a charming showcase of cellar doors, local produce, art and craft stores, cafes and more. And it’s not all about wine tasting. Walk or cycle along the old railway alignment between Willunga and Seaford - through vineyards, wild olives and old gum trees - to get a feel for this gorgeous countryside.
