Golf Courses in the Murray River Region

Few regions in South Australia can boast five top quality golf courses within 25 minutes of each other. The courses are as diverse and challenging as the landscape itself. This is the place to get away from it all - away from expensive city green fees and delays in hitting off.

These top-quality, fully irrigated golf courses are located in Waikerie, Barmera, Berri, Loxton and Renmark. Further south on the river, there are courses at Swan Reach, Mannum and Murray Bridge.

Barmera Golf Club

Located near town, the fully irrigated couch fairways and greens would be the envy of many clubs. The clubhouse has views of the 1st and 18th holes, and Lake Bonney. Watch for the signature, 337-metre dogleg 15th hole. On-course accommodation is available at the beautifully appointed Barmera Country Club.

Berri Golf Club

The easy walking layout, with small hills, bumps and bunkers, makes for a very enjoyable game. It has beautifully presented grass greens, and flowering gums and other native trees line all fairways. On-course accommodation and golfing packages are available at the Big River Motor Inn.

Loxton Golf Club

The Loxton Golf course is located 8kms from the town of Loxton and is highly regarded for its course quality and plentiful wildlife. The 18-hole course is ranked among the top ten courses in South Australia and the top 100 regional Australian courses. The course is enjoyable for golfers at all levels – it is challenging but fair and rewarding for good play.

Renmark Golf Club

The resort layout comprises of 11 holes on flat Murray River flood plain, and seven holes on gently undulating land. Fairways and greens are maintained to an exceptional standard, and feature abundant wildlife including native birds and kangaroos. Excellent on-course accommodation is available at the Renmark Golf and Country Club.

Waikerie Golf Club

The Kentucky bluegrass fairways, green all year round, and the true bent grass greens go towards making a course that is a ‘must play’ for the traveling golfer. The undulating greens are on the fast side, and are designed to reward an accurate approach shot. Waikerie Golf Club offers golfers at all levels a challenging and enjoyable round of golf.
