The Murray River is Australia’s greatest river, and in South Australia it is characterised by wide stretches, towering cliffs and an abundance of wildlife just made for lazy days relaxing on the water!
Plus, there is still plenty of water in the Murray River thanks to a series of locks and weirs that control the water level!
There are many options for cruising the River. From guided cruises to being the skipper of your own houseboat, you’ll experience a new perspective on life as you glide along the river.
Old fashion paddle steamers offer fully hosted river cruises of varying lengths, while canoe tours and small boats for hire will reveal all manner of river secrets.
Murray Bridge is the river’s closest point to Adelaide and is only a one hour drive on the South Eastern Freeway. Self driving is one of the best ways to explore the towns and surrounding areas.
