Explorer’s Way
To Alice Spings and beyond

The 3,016km Stuart Highway, which links Adelaide to Darwin via Alice Springs, has become known as the Explorer’s Way. It was first traversed in 1862 and is now completely sealed and easily accessible to all vehicles. Along the way experience some of Australia’s most spectacular and rugged scenery, including Outback South Australia, the Red Centre and Australia’s tropical north. It also boasts some great tourism highlights: the Wadlata Outback Centre, the Australian Arid Lands Botanic Garden, an international launching site for satellites and experimental rockets, and, of course, Uluru. For those who have the time or prefer getting ‘off the beaten track’ you can detour to the Flinders Ranges and rejoin the Explorer’s way at Coober Pedy.
