Outback Tracks - South Australia
Get out into the Outback

You’ll be pleasantly surprised by the quality of roads, both sealed and unsealed, in the South Australian Outback.
You’ll encounter tracks which are part of the nation’s rich folklore. The Birdsville Track links South Australia with Queensland and was once a stock route. On the Strzelecki Track you’ll find part of Australia’s famous dog fence, which stretches 5,300km (twice the length of the Great Wall of China) and was built to prevent dingoes from preying on sheep stock. On the isolated Oodnadatta Track is South Australia’s smallest town, William Creek. The famous William Creek Hotel is home to the world’s first solar-powered public telephone.
